NS Fishing Vessel Arrested

A 15-metre (49 ft) fishing vessel was arrested on  Monday, July 19 and escorted into New Harbour, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia.

Fisheries officer officers seized over 800 kilograms (1,760 lbs) of halibut. Officers several locations took part in the operations.

The captain and crew were charged with fishing without a licence. Charges wern't laid until the DFO Patrol Boat was forced to give chase to the vessel when the fishing skipper decided to try and a run for it.
The men were released from custody and ordered to appear Oct. 14 in Barrington provincial court to be arraigned on charges.

The names of the crew and the boat have not been released

The skipper must be be stupid if he thinks that he could run for it, and not get caught.
