Softshell Closure in Crab Fishing Area 3D
DFO advises harvesters that, in accordance with the soft shell crab protocol, grid quadrant AI 32C, in Crab Fishing Area 3D will close to fishing snow crab in water depths greater than 180 fathoms at midnight on Saturday, May 15, 2015 due to a high incidence of soft-shell crab.
All crab traps must be removed from water depths greater than 180 fathoms.
DFO Requesting Turbot Fishery Expressions of Interest
DFO advises fish harvesters who wish to participate in the 2015 fixed gear fishery for Greenland halibut (turbot) in Division 2+3K that they must submit an Expression of Interest Application to the Fisheries Science Stewardship and Sustainability Board (FSSSB) by June 08, 2015.
The Sustainability Board has mailed Expression of Interest Applications for the June fishery to all enterprise owners who fished for 2+3K Greeenland Halibut(turbot) in 2013 and/or 2014.
