DFO advises mariners that a scientific survey is being conducted in the vicinity of Carson Canyon, NAFO Division 3N, from August 24, 2015 and will last approximately 40 days weather depending, to October 14, 2015.
The study is being conducted by the fishing vessel Arctic Eagle.

The Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF) is calling on Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) to take immediate action to assist hundreds of trapped wild Atlantic salmon in Rocky River, Newfoundland and Labrador. Amended Closing Date for Shrimp in Area 6 for 3L Fleet
DFO advises that the Northern shrimp fishery for 3L vessels, is not being taken as quickly as expected.
Therefore, the shrimp fishery in Shrimp Fishing Area 6 for inshore vessels based in NAFO Division 3L, will now close at 2000 hours on Monday, August 17, 2015.
The quota for this fleet is expected to be taken at that time.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) today released its investigation report (M14A0289) into the capsizing of the small fishing vessel Sea Serpent 25 and subsequent loss of life in June 2014.
