FISH-NL Presents Certification Application to N.L. Labour Relations Board
The Federation of Independent Sea Harvesters of Newfoundland and Labrador (FISH NL) presented an application this morning to the Newfoundland and Labrador Labour Relations Board requesting that the organization be certified as the new bargaining agent for inshore fish harvesters.
The application, the organization stated, includes membership cards signed by thousands of harvesters from more than 300 communities around the province.

FISH-NL Calls on Province to Lift Restrictions on Outside Buyers
The Federation of Independent Sea Harvesters of Newfoundland and Labrador (FISH NL) has proposed that the provincial government lift all restrictions and allow out-of-province buyers into the provincial marketplace for all species.

Licence Extensions for 2017
DFO advises fish harvesters that fishing licences for 2017 may not be available until after the first week of January 2017.
Those fish harvesters who wish to fish during the first week of January, 2017 must first have their 2016 fishing licences manually amended by a fishery officer or a licensing officer to extend their licence into 2017.
