DFO advises mariners that a scientific survey is being conducted in the vicinity of Carson Canyon, NAFO Division 3N, from August 24, 2015 and will last approximately 40 days weather depending, to October 14, 2015.
The study is being conducted by the fishing vessel Arctic Eagle.
The study area is bounded by the following coordinates:
- 48.799526 North 45.468687 West
- 48.729221 North 45.46731 West
- 48.731026 North 45.422339 West
- 48.801275 North 45.423714 West
The study area is approximately 5X5 kilometres in size. Fifty oceanographic moorings will be deployed within that area, including surface (marked with high flyers) and sub-surface moorings. Mariners are asked to give the study area a wide berth.
In addition, a single mooring will also be in the Lilly Canyon to collect scientific oceanographic data from August 24 to October 14, 2015 located at: 48.29414 North 45.746219 West
