DFO advises fish harvesters who wish to participate in the August portion of the 2015 fixed gear fishery for Greenland halibut (turbot) in NAFO Divisions 2+3K, that they must submit an Expression of Interest Application to the Fisheries Science Stewardship and Sustainability Board (FSSSB) by Thursday, July 23, 2015.

Southern Shore Fixed Gear Capelin Fishery Opening
DFO advises that the capelin fishery, for vessels less than 19.8 metres, using fixed gear, in that portion of Capelin Fishing Area 8 (Southern Shore) from Cape Neddick to Cape Pine will open at 0600 hours on July 4, 2015.
Fish harvesters are reminded that no capelin may be removed from any fixed gear until the fishery has been open for a period of 24 hours and dockside monitoring requirements are in place for this fishery.

Capelin Fixed Gear Fishery Opening in a Portion of Area 14
DFO advises that the capelin fixed gear fishery using traps and bar seine (including tuck seine), for vessels less than 65 feet, in a portion of Capelin Fishing Areas 14 will open at 0600hrs on Thursday, June 25, 2015.
The specific capelin quota zone that is opening is that portion from a line drawn due west of Point Riche, north to a line drawn due west of Big Brook.

DFO advises that the Herring fixed gear fishery (trap, gillnet, bar seine - including modified bar seine known as "tuck seine") in all of Herring Fishing Area 12, and portions of Herring Fishing Area 13 will close at 2400 hours (midnight) Sunday, June 14, 2015 and will re-open at 0600 hours on Saturday, August 1, 2015.
