The Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF) stated in a press release that it is very disappointed over the failure of the North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Organization (NASCO) to limit Greenland’s salmon harvest to sustainable levels, during negotiations to set regulatory measures at meetings that took place June 2 to 5 in Goose Bay, Labrador.

ASF Concerned About Salmon Fishery in Greenland
The Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF) is very concerned about the continually increasing harvest by Greenland of Canadian Atlantic salmon in its mixed-population fishery.
Greenland expanded its kill of wild Atlantic salmon from 47 tonnes in 2013 to 58 tonnes in 2014, far beyond sustainable levels for the species, the ASF said in a recent press release.
