The 25th Annual Port de Grave Boat Lighting Presented by TriNav Group kicked off on December 8, 2023, as the small community of Port de Grave, Newfoundland and Labrador’s harbour came to life when around 60 fishing boats adorned with Christmas lights were officially turned on to kick off their 28 days of Christmas. For Port de Grave, this time-honoured tradition brings the whole community together in a unified goal.

Passed On: Allan Christopher DeBaie – Cape George, N.S. Fisherman
DeBaie, 33, formerly of Mabou, passed away on November 7. He was born in Inverness and was a son of Albert and Elizabeth (O’Brien) DeBaie. He was employed as a fisherman and spent the last 14 seasons fishing alongside his father, and enjoyed his time on the sea. In addition, for the last four years, he worked as a drywall taper and interior/exterior painter, operating his own company, Caper’s Tapers and Painters.
